Interests and Community Involvement

I was born and raised in Wyoming where I attended undergraduate as well as graduate school. I was married while attending school in Wyoming and my wife and I moved to Denver so I could attend medical school as well as further graduate school. After graduating with my Medical as well as my Doctor of Philosophy degree in Analytical Chemistry, we remained in Colorado where I received my training in Anesthesiology. During our time in Denver, we witnessed the Columbine tragedy and I personally cared for 2 of the students wounded on the day of the shooting. This violence combined with our love of the outdoors brought us to Fairbanks to live and work. While in Denver, we spent a lot of time volunteering for charitable groups as well as our son's school. This involvement is continuing in Fairbanks as we have just finished our first season as soccer coaches and are starting our involvement in a new school system.

My philosophy of anesthesia care is that I work for the patient and the patient's family. Most patients I speak to are more worried about their "going to sleep" than the surgery itself. They can rest assured that they are receiving the best care and attention before, during and after their anesthesia that can be found anywhere.
